Carmen Riano, a sophomore at Miami (Ohio) representing Spain, won the women's invitational 3,000-meter steeplechase in a personal-best 9:57.42 at the 47th Stanford Invitational at Cobb Track and Angell Field in Palo Alto, Calif.
